This test offers sensitivity testing for 300 commercial pet food ingredients that may cause your cat a sensitivity. Proteins, grains, additives, preservatives, fruits, seafood, meat, vegetables, etc. Find a full list of items tested here.

The results will provide an elimination guide, identifying ingredients that could be causing temporary imbalances and discomfort for your pet. Removing these imbalances allows the gut time to rebalance.

  • We analyse your pets sensitivity reactions to 300 items using a hair strand sample.

    ✔️ Food & Drink
    ✔️ Environmental Sensitivity
    ✔️ Additives

We test the reactivity levels for 300 items using a hair strand sample. Each item is then classified into one of three reactivity levels:

  • High Reactivity / Outside Range
These items likely cause sensitivity and physical symptoms. We recommend an elimination diet followed by gradual reintroduction.

    Moderate Reactivity
These items may cause sensitivity, and multiple moderate reactivity items in one meal could trigger symptoms. After eliminating high reactivity items, follow a structured elimination diet with gradual reintroduction of the moderate ones.

    No Reactivity / Within Range
These items fall within the optimal range.

Frequently asked questions

What is a food sensitivity?

Food sensitivity happens when your pet has difficulty digesting a particular food. Having a food sensitivity can cause symptoms such as hot sports, paw biting and licking, coughing, excessive shredding, runny nose, watery and red eyes, itching and ear infections.

What is a food allergy?

Food sensitivity should not be confused with food allergy. This test is for food sensitivity ONLY. Food allergy symptoms include coughing, sneezing, runny nose/eyes, itchy mouth/eyes, swelling of the lips/face, rashes, breathing difficulties, vomiting, diarrhoea and, in rare cases, anaphylaxis. Testing for food allergy can only be achieved through a blood, skin prick or patch test which My Pet Sensitivity do not offer.

How many items do you test?

Our basic test covers 300 food and drink items. Our test covers proteins, grains, vegetables, fruits, fats, seafood, additives and preservatives. The intolerances are listed into 3 levels of reactivity based on the response upon exposure.

I’m waiting for my kit to arrive, how long will it take?

We've developed our test to be as eco-friendly as possible so we don't send a physical kit to you.

Once you’ve completed your order you'll be emailed a unique code that you attach to your sample when you send it to our lab.

Follow the instructions provided and send us your pet's hair/fur sample to the address provided.

You do not need any special packaging to send your sample in, just place your pet's sample into a small sealable bag clearly stating your unique code and name in a secure mailing envelope.

Please remember to pay for the correct postage as we cannot be responsible for mail without a stamp.
